Drink of the Day: Cuba Libra

A: Rum, Coke with a lime wedge
Drink of the Day: Kryptonite
“If I go crazy, then will you still call me superman?”
I learned this drink today at bartending school and was impressed by the sheer radiance of it. Apparently in low lit environments, it appears to glow.
Recipe for two shots:
Use shaker tin- fill with ice- use strainer.
- 1 oz Midori
- 1 oz Rum
- 1 oz Lime juice
- POUR!
Drink of the Day: Samuel Adams
Since it’s Paul Revere’s Birthday (unfortunately not the revolutionary hero, but that found here. For the sake of this having any semblance of a logical leap, we will pretend it is the formers’,) today’s drink will be a cool, refreshing, world class Samuel Adams.
Now Samuel Adams is not only a beer. He is also an American patriot, much like Paul Revere! If you need a history lesson, click-y the wiki.
Drink of the day: Bahama Mama
Where did Las Vegas go? It’s windy, wet and cold, while it should be wind-free warm and dry! To take ours minds off of this misguided natural phenomena known as seasonal weather, we’ll pretend we’re elsewhere.
Imagine your feet moving slowly through the sand as you glide along the beach with a towel draped over your shoulder and hurricane glass in hand. The grains finding their ways between your toes don’t bother you today, because this is paradise. The cool ocean breeze, like lungs, breathes down your back as you find a place to settle under the bright, warm sun. You are a cheeseburger in paradise.
Bahama Mama (with a kick)
- 151
- Malibu
- Grenadine
- Orange Juice
- Pineapple Juice
- Cherry Garnish
Drink of the day: Mansinthe
Since today is Marilyn Manson’s birthday (b. Jan 5th, 1969) it would only be fair to dedicate the drink of the day to him. That being said, a shot of ‘Mansinthe‘ is in order!
Restaurant Review: Steiner’s Pub
When I entered the building with my associates, we were met with a room almost filled to capacity. The establishment has a nice warm feeling to it and is quite lively. All along the walls I found vintage alcohol advertisements, sports memorabilia, and flat screen televisions tuned into various sporting events. A sign at the front told us to seat ourselves and we did at one of the only two tables remaining.
After taking it all in and finding a seat… which can be challenge, you will note the vast selection of beers available via the drink menu located at every table. I have come to find Steiners is one of the only places in Las Vegas where the purchase of a decent imported hefeweizen that tastes as it should can be had save a liqor store. Many places offer hefeweizen, just usually in the American style and it is not the same. The imports do not end with unfiltered wheat beers, and there are plenty of domestics to choose from as well… all at decent prices.
The prices on everything on both the drink menu and the food menu are extremely reasonable, and only made more so through out most of the day with a very long lasting happy hour. The selection of food offered is quite large and the portions are large. I am a plain guy and like to order their cheese burger with their signature fries, which tastes better then any hamburger and fries should. My dining companions choose to order from their other less simple options and the quality is the same, Outstanding. The other choices look every bit as delicious and the portions are very generous.
The wait staff is very friendly and helpful. The refills are quick and your needs are checked up on often. The atmosphere is laughter and an all around good time. The prices are reasonable and will not hurt your wallet all that much. If you like well made food and Germanic beers as I do, you may want to give Steiners Pub a visit. I am sure you will not regret the decision.
