I PASSED. Oral Board Time!
I passed both of my exams and have now been scheduled for an oral board exam in front of three current sergeants on the 7th!
HUZAH!
Now I just need to ace this and I should be on my way to an academy date!
Won’t know for sure until monday.
Passed the physical with flying colors, will not know anything else until Monday. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Nervous… just a tad.
Tomorrow is the day, time to take the test. Pass or fail(hope to god tis pass). Going to go to bed now to give myself a good twelve hours of sleep. Wish me luck and soon the normal updates will resume.
A little over a week left.
My DPS exam is coming up in a little over a week and I think I am ready. I can meet all minimums set for testing and it is good enough for now. My training will continue however as I wish to be more then ready for an academy which I am fairly confident I will get placed.
Disappointing
As posted prior, I have a physical exam on the twenty fifth provided by the NV DPS that will hopefully lead to future employment with them. I also, as noted prior, have had my application on file with UNLV police and they have also requested my presence at an exam.
Normally this would be an awesome situation where two departments make my chances that much higher. Sadly that may not be the case, as the UNLV police test is also being held on the twenty fifth during the same time period. Given the decision between the two, NV DPS is the smarter choice as it is a much larger department.
I am still going to keep my hopes up for UNLV police though, because there was a clause I read in their documentation that allows you to apply past exam performance to current performance. Even though I have never applied or taken an exam with them before, I am going to talk to the recruiter to see if the NV DPS test will suffice to meet their requirements. If it turns out that it could count for both, I would not be so disappointed the exam are on the same day… If it cannot be credited for them, then at least I got the invite to try.
Testing for DPS
Well I have received a letter via the post today that I am to report to testing on the 25th for NV DPS. Fun stuff. I managed to secure the day off and can only hope I do well enough as I am sick of the current situation.
I think I would make a fine DPS officer, now I must just try my best and let fate take its course.
